Retailers show different prices and availability by region and by “new visitor,” and datacenter ranges often get served a fallback price — or blocked. Go residential to see what a real user sees; when you watch the same SKU for hours without wanting your exit identity to jump, put a static ISP IP in front of it. Some mobile apps and social platforms only trust real carrier exits, and multi-account work needs isolated environments. Go mobile for the carrier-grade signal; residential is the fallback. Keep it one fixed exit per account, match the session length to the login cycle, and never let two accounts share an exit.
Scores are a qualitative read of (1) each network’s inherent nature — real residential, static ISP range, datacenter ASN, carrier exit — and (2) published specs for coverage, billing, and uptime. It’s a starting point, not a third-party benchmark; confirm on your own target.

Walk 1→4 and take the first match. If two apply (you need both stability and a residential profile), fall back to the matrix and weigh “sticky-session stability” against “unblock strength.”
Rotating vs sticky sessions. Rotation changes IP often — good for volume and spreading load off any one IP. Sticky keeps one IP for a window — good for logins, carts, and multi-step flows. Residential usually switches between both.
Static ISP vs residential vs datacenter. Datacenter is cheapest and fastest but ASN-flagged. Residential gives you a huge, flexible pool of real IPs. Static ISP sits between them — a residential profile with one long-lived, fixed IP.
For per-GB billing, a rough model: monthly cost ≈ requests × payload-per-request × retry factor ÷ 1 GB × unit price. For per-IP billing, cost ≈ concurrent IPs × unit price, largely independent of traffic.

Treating the priciest option as the best. Buying datacenter for geography-sensitive work and getting polluted by personalized pricing. Grinding datacenter ranges against hard targets until failures eat your savings. Holding sticky sessions too long until hit rates drop. Choosing on one dimension instead of the unblock–cost–stability combination.
Is residential always better than datacenter? No. Residential wins on defended targets and real-user views; datacenter wins on volume, speed, and cost against weak targets.
Do I need mobile proxies just for price monitoring? Usually not — residential is enough. Add mobile only when the target trusts real carrier exits.
How are static ISP and residential different? Static ISP is a residential-profile IP that stays fixed, so it’s built for long-lived sessions. Residential rotates across a huge pool of real IPs.
How much traffic should I buy? Estimate GB as requests × average payload × retry factor (see the model above), or pick per-IP datacenter / static ISP based on concurrency instead.
